Are You A Person With Lived Experience?
I thought I was but now that's debateable because I've never been in prison. To avoid causing offence, new guidance for prison officers advises them to stop calling prisoners 'convicts', and to refer to ex-cons as “persons with lived experience” or “prison leavers”. Killers, thugs, rapists, child abusers, thieves. criminals of every description … you've got to respect their sensitivities. Meanwhile their victims who certainly have 'lived experience' - but experience they'd rather not have lived - are left scarred for life. Whichever bright spark of a Civil Servant came up with this rubbish should be shown the door - pronto. We're paying that twerp's wages!

Funny how the tables turned. The section under Sec 54 Met Police Act concerns the use of insulting and abusive words and behaviour in a public place. We were told at Hendon Training School it doesn't apply to us. Apparently police officers can't be insulted or abused so we suck it up and smile according to the good book. Meanwhile we call our abusers a client??. I don't think so.

very old case - biker/greaser with ACAB on his jacket convicted of god knows what. went to prison- o god it wasnt dear old Melly was it?

But ACAB really took on its modern meaning in 1970 when the Daily Mirror ran the phrase as a headline. The accompanying story explained that the police had picked up a teen who had embroidered the phrase on his jacket after copying it from a Hells Angel he saw on the street. The kid claimed he thought ACAB stood for “All Canadians are Bums” and got off with a £5 fine,

My driver was stopped in a police exercise and I had to walk to the civl court where I was a litigant. The criminal court is very easy to find ( big big big) and I asked two er cons " Ay am not helping you today. can you tell me where the civil court was." and I was redirected.
Back home later with a tenant who HAD been a con ( not a terribly successful experiment, but one lives and learns) said, " yes they told me they met you" ( excuse me?) - "you know Coleen Rooney lost her mobile? well they came by it and thought they could claim a 'return fee'" -
er said I - what about handling or blackmail
'Both' he said ' they were down there to plead guilty'
( and what, when they were down there, they said, we met a crazy guy, that landlord of yours....)

since retired, as I have, but dear old George got it wrong. The CPS is the Criminal protection scheme not the Crown Prosecution Service.
The CPS are manned by useless solicitors who could not prosecute anything.. When I served at my old and first Paddington nick we would often see dear old Jack Warner walking around his and our manor.. We would stop and give this wonderful gentleman a tour in our wireless car. Loved chatting to him. He lived in Gloucester Terrace on our Manor . Last time I spoke to him before I transferred he told me of his Bee sting therapy to cure his chronic arthritis. The Police lamp which he introduced his episodes was my old police station lamp ( Delta Papa). It was transferred to the new Paddington Green nick which is occupied by SQUATTERS now.
