........was there a thread on here earlier this week criticising the new BBC cop series, Blue Lights?

If there was, can i just say, 4 episodes in and i'm quite enjoying it. And, yes, i'd recommend it to those interested in such programmes.

Yes, it was OK, but after first episode, we decided we weren't going to watch anymore. Just didn't work for us.

Quite a lot of 'behind the scenes' intrigue involved, Barry, on top of the day to day policing of Belfast. I'll most likely see it to it's conclusion tomorrow evening.

I do like a police procedural. There seems to have been a few police dramas set in both sides of the Irish border lately.

I must admit I didn't like it at all. Stuck it out for the first episode but then gave up on it.

I thought there was just about enough in that first episode to entice me to watch the 2nd and it's become more intriguing as the story unfolds.
Not saying it's brilliant, by the way, but it is worth a look-see, in my most humble of opinions:-)

Watched the final 2 episodes tonight and have to say i was more than satisfied with the outcome. If there's to be more of this drama, count me in.

I actually asked that question of a RUC officer back in the late 70s, a time when many of his colleagues were being 'targetted'. His reply was simply that someone has to do the job.

It is a very good drama and living over here and comparing the peelers to English peelers - I could not believe how big the gulf is.

The first few episodes aren’t great, but stick with it, it gets better, I would recommend it .

I watched the whole series in one day. Loved it.

The problem is they turn into soaps. I remember the Bill when it started. Filled an hours slot and had a different story each week, pretty watchable, then wallop they changed it to 3 half hour slots and turned it into Emmerdale for coppers.
