I have just moved in with my dad and sent off to be put on the voting register, i was not registered b4 this as i had no fixed address. I have worked for a year in a permanent 9-5 job. Does anyone know how soon i will be put on the voting register and how soon will i be able to apply for credit cards etc and get credit? I know you can get a free credit check online but i don't want to use it yet.

You'll be put on the register wthin a day or two of the local council receiving your application.

How long it will be before the credit check companies update THEIR version I've no idea. I doubt if it will be instantaneous.
