Probably the best idea I have heard yet.

Hope you had a good one.
Happy New Year. Sounds lovely. Can I ask, is it safe there?
Happy New year to you, too
Happy New year - 2 of my girlfriends went there for 2 weeks after a trip to Vegas and absolutely loved it.
I'm considering a Christmas holiday, never thought I would, but I'm sick to death of the organising and cooking and feeding blah blah blah.

An old colleague of mine goes to Hawaii every year. She loves it, though I'm not sure it's my cup of tea.
Rocky we have been to Vegas for Xmas and NY but also a hotel about 30 miles from our home for a Xmas break it was amazing - the hotel had a spa and did carriage rides down the promenade - axe throwing and archery, also wine tasting and cheese tasting.
I can PM you the name if you are interested
I have been thinking along those lines, RR. Costa Rica was one place I was considering.

ladyCG: "Happy New Year. Sounds lovely. Can I ask, is it safe there?" - well I suppose in a country that has as many guns as they do there is always going to be danger about but of all the states I'd say it's one of the safer ones.
Up until about 4 years ago we spent 5 Christmases rung in the Caribbean on the beach. No doing the tree or decorations, didn't get one another presents, all the stress of Christmas gone. I can thoroughly recommend it.
Happy New Year, Kardashev. Used to go to Hawaii when I lived in Canada.
Loved it and would go back in a heartbeat if I didn't have to fly. :-)

gness, do you have a medical condition that prevents flying or have you recently become aerophobic?
axe-throwing for Christmas, Redhelen? Why have I never thought of that?
Neither, K.....just can't be doing with the hassle of airports these days.
Happy New Year to you & yours, Kardashev :-)

OK thanks all.
gness, know what you mean what a palaver!
I'm thinking more easterly. Cambodia, Vietnam et al.

Probably pie in the sky though, as I can just hear the family howls of protest
What about a cruise in that area, RR? There are lots of different itineraries and board options.
Axe throwing is amazing fun jno
I have zero interest in cruising, to be honest. Too structured for me.
