Im feeling really run down at the moment. I have huge bags under my eyes although i get enough sleep and my lips are all cracked even around the edges.

Dont feel its worth seeing the Doc, ive tried to eat more fruit but what else can i do?
Nothing has changed in my life recently so don't know why im like this.

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

I simply wanted to provide links that demonstrated that research is providing evidence that vitamin d may play a part in the prevention of some cancers. Therefore promising.
There have been a lot of recent studies into vitamin d and the role it plays in both prevention of disease and maintaining health.
Make of it what you will...or want.
I'm doubtless sure that a couple of posters will make of it what they want ;)
I actually found your link, superficially, interesting, LCG. I say superficially as I’m always sceptical as to who’s behind the research and how they might benefit from it (places on the board of vitamin supplement companies and such) but yes, the research seems to be positive.
I don't understand why some people are talking about cancer. That has nothing to do with the OP
Because LCG made a questionable statement, that's all Khandro.

Thanks all for your advice, i walk at least an hour a day as i have a dog and have been putting Vaseline on.

I do have some bloods to do for my Doctor anyway so will see what comes back, if anything.
Try taking a multivitamin tailored for your age group and see how you feel in a week or so. I do agree about seeing your GP for blood tests as well.
Vaseline isn't the best solution for lips that are already dry...it doesn't restore moisture. Try something with shea butter like Burts Bees or Carmex.
If you take extra vitamins as discussed, and your body doesn’t need them, can they do any harm? Will they just pass through your system?

If you take normal doses of vitamins , not needed, the bosdy will just "get rid of them" with no harm done.
If you are taking large doses for a long period of time, they may, rarely, but possibly cause damage to various organs of he body, particularly large doses of VitaminD.
Thank you Sqad. Would the doses mentioned by LadyCG be classed as normal doses?
Yes......LadyC's doses of VitD are perfectly acceptable.
Thanks Sqad, and LadyCG, much appreciated (sorry for butting in, Darcey).
LadyCG, please will you confirm for me, are you saying not to take any Vitamin D supplements at all throughout the summer months, just take the supplements during the winter months?

TIA. x
While some of the tips based on folk's experiences may be helpful, this is a dangerous medium for medical advice. If you feel you can't approach your doctor, at least try the NHS website for a professional view.
The Immunologist whose work I used to do recommended taking Vitamin D all year round but lowering the dose during the summer months and then upping it again in the colder months.
Thanks Lady. You too Canary.
Caveat: I am not a medical professional, but this makes me shudder, especially the 'I don't feel its worth seeing the Doc' bit. Taking a few vitamins and eating more fruit is not going to help you if you have an underlying health concern that may be flagged up with simple blood tests. Medical conditions such as allergies, thyroid disorder, and some autoimmune disorders need to be discounted first. Its wise to proceed with caution when reading so called 'medical advice' on forums
