I used to have similar thoughts....when I was 12.
There are many areas where people volunteer money and time to compliment, sometimes basic, Government responsibilities.
If you feel passionate about a certain cause you can, voluntarily, give it your support. If you don't you can voluntarily shut up.
You can believe that the Government should do more for whatever cause 'interests' you, why bring charities into it?

It is commendable that peop!e will face the cold and rain to commemorate our fallen heroes.
No accolade is big enough to honour these men and women that made the ultimate sacrifice!
Surely one can be forgiven though, if they have reservations about giving over a donation to one of those ubiquitous chuggers that seem ever present outside the supermarket?
Do we not also need to remember there is a cost of living crisis. Pressuring people into giving money they can ill afford!
