GULLY, no it's not.
All users of social media lay themselves open to abuse and trolling. It even happens on AB! If you can't handle the fallout keep off
Question Author
Gulliver, Instead if your usual inane drivel would you care to have a go at the actual question? It is quite a serious subject affecting politicians across the spectrum.
I've often wondered that but I suppose they need to connect with all the electorate and that includes the younger generations on Twitter etc.

I would have thought the easiest way was have your intern do it then you dont see it.
Give yourself BA TTT;-)
Social media is an essential promotional tool these days.

Politicians etc may not be businesses as such but they need to promote themselves in the same way.
Youngmaf, most of them probably do have someone running it, but they would always need to be made aware of anything really nasty or threatening in case the police need to get involved.
13.03 I was answering the actual question.
True.
It is dreadful.

Would be a shame tho if they were all driven off. It’s a great communications medium, in spite of all
Twitter is the leading global communication tool. Political and social narratives are guided through Twitter.

When politicians want to define the agenda, announce policy initiatives and even gauge public reaction, they use Twitter.

The Twitter active user base is actually smaller than Facebook or Snapchat but its reach is far greater.

This is why they are on Twitter.
//and even gauge public reaction, they use Twitter.//

No wonder they get things wrong, Twitter is not exactly known for its non bias is it.

Or at least it wasnt.
All part of their censorship campaign.
Too many people are going off message.
Not for much longer.
As advised, Twitter is a necessary evil for anyone needing to reach large swathes of the younger generations - and that means MP's need to be on it.

Suffering the fact that any moron with a connection and a keyboard can insult strangers from the comfort of their own home is part of the price we pay for worldwide communication.
The large swathes of the younger generation are actually using TikTok
Roy - I don't imagine any social media is exclusive to any one demographic - communicators need to be everywhere.
