My online bank statements and to see what transactions have been paid. But now and again I see something that completely baffles me, so I sit there trying to work out what it's for. Does this happen to you?
When I checked about 11.0am I saw this, (NYA Air-serv £1.00) it's now dawned on me what it was but see who can guess first what it is. :0)

Had you bought fuel and paid at the pump?
Question Author
No. This one had me thinking longer than any past ones. :0)
Air serv ? Maybe you blew up some tyres.

Yeah I wondered about 2 payments recently and was on the phone to the bank reporting them when I suddenly realised what they were.

Yes, OG well done!! stopped to put air in my tyres. :0)
If that was at a petrol station, I think you'll find I was close enough and deserve a prize...
Yes, it does happen to me. Banks should be much more informative in my opinion.
I was once baffled by an amount showing on my credit card statement. When I phoned the card company, I was repeated told (by someone for whom English clearly wasn't her first language), that I'd made a payment to 'Charlie Roy'.

It took quite some time before I realised that French wasn't her first language either. I'd made a payment at Charleroi Airport ;-)
^^^^
Surely the payee name on the statement is the name of the company on the request for payment that goes through to the payee bank
Mine was to canary
True Bazile, but the restriction on characters come from the Banks, which doesn't help.
My favourite financial one was out in H-Kong. The trading VP for Chase Manhattan was down on his floor when his Chinese secretary came on the intercom, "Mr. David to the phone please, 'Sweet Susie from Bangkok' in on the line."

The trading floor stopped - much curiosity to what the boss had been up to and mucho sniggering.

Redfaced, he made his way to the phone - who was it but First Suisse Bancorp....oh the joy of language!
