My car passed its not but advisory says Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material. The garage said not to worry, it will probably get picked up on next mot. Then he did say, it's not corroded just covered in some grease. I've h ad it from New . What does it mean. should I be concerned

I’ve had many MOT advisories over the years that have magically disappeared come the next MOT, without any intervention from me.
So the grease will be stopping the pipes from corrosion - won't it ?
Touting for a bit of business that's all.
Hymie. I had a cracked engine bracket about 3 yrs ago. It's never been mentioned since.
I few years ago there was a proposal to bring the UK's vehicle safety testing in line with Europe, whereby cars undergo their first test at 4 years old, and then every other year (rather than 3 years, and annually).

But the proposal was rejected, ostensibly on the grounds of safety – but the real reason was the loss of income to garages, scamming motorists for unnecessary tests (and bogus repairs).
