Tory MPs have just, without any mandate from the British electorate, voted in as representative of their party & the country, the first non-white leader of any European country in its history, that is to say back & before pre-Roman times. A man who is richer than any other European politician, a Hindu of a Christian country, who has recently applied for a green card to work in the US, & whose fabulously wealthy wife has had to be shamed into paying UK taxes, and who has i.m.o. the charisma of my front door mat (which, memo. badly needs replacing) & would have less chance of connecting with the working class people beyond the 'red Wall' than a covid- bearing Chinaman.

Has the Tory party gone collectively mad?

I can see where you're coming from, Khandro. Think of all the kudos and apologies you'll receive when reality dawns and Rishi imposes CBDC and Digital Id's. (Jim must be rubbing his hands together in anticipation) Congratulations to you, by the way, for bringing left and right ABers together in such a heartwarming display of unity (even if it was only to hate...

Congratulations to you, by the way, for bringing left and right ABers together in such a heartwarming display of unity (even if it was only to hate on you ;-) )
Why do some people here refuse to live in the present? They post ideas about what would have happened if Corbyn had been in power. They post about what might happen now that Sunak is in power.
And why do so many gloat about inflicting discomfort on their political opponents, instead of trying to do the best for the country regardless of party loyalty?
Bit of fun, Atheist. What would you like to talk about?
Spice: We have different ideas of fun! Being here isn't my idea of fun. I enjoy a discussion about issues, where people express their opinions and then listen to others' responses, and then there is a bit of civil to-and-fro. Sadly, there is a lot of assertation and not much listening. The worst responses are dumb name-calling, which you seem not to do. :-)
Aww, thanks, Athy mate. ;-)
I think my gut feeling must have just been my hope for the UK.

I despair now. I can't see things improving. :-(
