I was wondering when King Charles' Coronation would be, thinking in about two or three months at most, but apparently it could be up to a year! Did anyone else think it would take so long?

Not only do the souvenir factories have to gear up their production lines in readiness but foreign heads of state and other dignitaries expected to attend need to be given plenty of time to clear their diaries, although they have only had just over a weeks notice to attend the funeral.

One the TV before it said that Charles 2 (I think) ruled that coronations were to be held in summer months to benefit the people. Was only half listening to be honest
The period of mourning is 12 m
so it has to be after that

Edward VII - o god you know all this really dont you - was delayed for appendicitis. Treves took it out and I cant remember who gave ether/chloroform.
George VI - took over the date for Edw VIII

so there have been confounding influences

Edw VII delay gave rise to significant cases of precedent in Contract - for those who had hired windows to gawp out of as the King passed by
