I was watching John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen and the made a cola float with vanilla ice cream. I loved these as a kid and I think they might have done them in Wimpy's but can't recall.

What retro food or drink did you like that you rarely see now?

I loved acid-drop Spangles. You can still buy acid-drops (not in Spangles form) at some retro sweetie shops.
I spent half an hour earlier this afternoon making toffee using a recipe my dad and his sisters used back in the early 1900s.
Callard and Bowser licorice toffee in cigarette packets. Could eat them till they came out of my ears
raspberry sundaes, down here, over in st Ives, there was the most amazing place called Hart's , right behind the sloop inn and on spring tides, the water would come up and over the wall and slosh around the feet of the customers in there - Bet HsE wouldn't allow that now.

Anyway, the old man took the recipe for his Cornish ice-cream to the grave with him..... This was way before Lady CG started going there. But imagine delish ice-cream, raspberries, a coulis and topped off with a large dollop of Cornish cream....

I used to love coke float but we made it with Cream Soda instead. Now that doesn’t taste the same, nor does Tizer.
Pennyworth o' kali and a ha'penny spanish!
Haslet (Tesco sometimes have it, but only in-store, meh) & I don't think I'm imagining it, but we used to get huge pork chops with some kidney on them which was the best bit.
Morrison's Scarborough stock Haslet Lie-in K.. They may have it in other branches.
Ta jourdain - I'm in East Sussex & I've just discovered they do deliver to my postcode. Hmmm. ;-)
At the infant's school the headteacher had a large tin of Dolly Mixtures in her office, if you did something in class that warranted a reward then you would go to her office, and she would offer up the tin for you to take one. I always took the round one it was bigger than all the rest. To think just "1" dolly and no more. :0)
