We have that many roadworks, temp lights and queues round here so we do like driving locally to Home Bargains and Aldi.

Instead, 3 miles away there are two co-ops and a Spar shop. Prices at the co-op are extremely competitive. Will continue going there during road works.

I don't shop in Aldi, YMB, my imaginary husband does all the shopping :) They're £1.30 in Tesco and 99p in Sainsburys. I've just checked. I think I deserve BA for all my hard work, Doc.

do NOT like driving,lol.
Oh goody...... I am so pleased.
i'm not involved in food shopping but my doris says that every time she buys something from the coop it's gone up 50p+ :-(
That's not just the co-op ael
There's a Coop not far from us. It's not cheap. There are also two Spars and they're not cheap either.

A nearby Tesco Express has gone so expensive there's hardly anyone in there. A pack of 10 Cadbury's Mini Rolls are £3. Aldi's own version are £1.10.

Back to Aldi when the roads clear. ciggies at co-op are cheaper than anywhere else, lol.
How much are Tesco own brand mini rolls?
I've no idea, Barry, I've not been to a regular Tesco for ages. There's only a Tesco Express near me.

If you really want to know you can always pop on their website... ;)
I think Barry asked because you are comparing apples with pears. Something I notice people who shop at places like Aldi do.
When I first moved here there was a wonderful Co-op Superstore close by which IMHO excelled every supermarket I had previously experienced. Unfortunately it closed down after a few years and the site was taken over by Asda, a right come-down in style and substance.

sparkly, i'm surprised that you need to compare prices if you can afford a packet of fags :-)
I used to have 2 smallish Co-op near me. One I've not been to in several months. The closer one was taken over by McColls...and prices went up...if that's possible. They have merged with Morrison's and now have less choice and higher prices. Iceland is luxury in comparison. *rolls eyes*. The other Co-op is nicer anyway.
Luckily both Aldi and Lidl aren't too far away...a 6 minute bus ride.
Actually, Sparkly, my little local village stores are undercutting the Co-op by 38p for 20 superkings which I find quite impressive.
lcg - Doc?
A "blast from the past" choux
The Co-op do some great meal deals if you have a family. We have a co-op nearby, its handy if you run out of something as its open from 7am until 10 pm seven days a week. We do our main shop in Tesco, you get good deals with the Clubcard. I only went in Aldi once and it smelled of rotten food, we left.
pasta, thank you.
My Aldi/Lidl are within a few hundred metres of each other, and very competitive. Always clean and no weird surprises food-wise.
That's happened to me with Tesco/Sainsbury's/Marks.
