Don't get excited Gromit, the Lib Non Dems are about as popular as gonorrhoea at the moment!
He’s probably read the writing on the wall and is ready to put himself out to pasture.
Coincidentally I heard yesterday of a young man locally who is on treatment for his third dose of just that so it may be more 'popular' than even you think.

You mean like they were in the recent by-elections?
Or do you have any basis for another wild assumption with no meaning or reasoning behind it?

Remember when you told everyone not to get excited about the VONC etc and how he’d lead the Tories to the next GE?
Luckily for you, humble pie ain’t fattening me old china.
The guy looks like a creepy mummy's boy.

It is only 8 weeks ago that the LibDems overturned a 24,000 majority to win the Tiverton by election. Gove has an 18,000 majority.
I doubt he will quit. Not a good time for the Government to fight a by election though.
mid term gromit, means nowt, ask Lady Madoc.
Didn’t Boris sack him just prior to resigning himself?
And he backed Sunak over Truss? He knows that like Boris he won’t enjoy the HoC from the cheap seats, he’ll be gone from Parliament soon enough, as will Johnson.

PMSL, 24,000 in a by-election is such a paltry figure, eh?
I do enjoy your posts on here, they’re comedy gold.
Thats just what we need A (good By election)
and then (Good Bye Tories) lol.
So what?
He's a yesterday's man sort of character these days, so it would make sense.
I thought he was to quit I have to say.
There is no way he'll get in Truss's cabinet: she hates his guts.

Another loss to the Tory party if so. He might have come across as irritating and smarmy, but he was one of the most able ministers.
By elections are by design the ability for us plebs to blow off steam and give the party in power a bloody nose - which by the time of a general election will have dried up.
Remember, 'return to your constituencies and prepare for government'. Yeah right.

Labour (in opposition) won Wirral South in 1997 from the Conservatives in a by election. A few months later Tony Blair won the GE by a landslide.
So they might be a time for the electorate to register a protest vote on the Government, but they are not always a bad indication of what is to come.
every cloud . . .
More likely he's about to do a 'Schofield'.

Whatever he does it's up to him. As for the Lib Dems, well TTT has pretty much summed it up above.
