I didn't know there was a Chinese Quarter in Newcastle. Birmingham and London, yes. Have a lovely time.
Naomi. Chinatown in Manchester, England, is the second largest Chinatown in the United Kingdom.(Just thought I'd drop that in. :-)
Bobbs, hope you have a great time. I think a friend of mine is going to see them when they come to Manchester.

Yes , it’s a street actually Naomi called Stowell Street , it’s across from St James’ Park with a large oriental square entrance, was going to say ‘arch’ but it isn’t :0) I’d have loved to go to see the Proms at the RAH but I think it’s a bit late now, besides it’s my sil that likes the classical stuff like me and she’s away on a cruise for the first two weeks of November
Really? I didn't know that either. Thanks Barsel.

Thank you Barsel
...and Liverpool's Chinatown is one of the oldest and largest in Europe.
I've been to all these cities - but apart from London and Birmingham, Chinatown in the others has never occurred to me. Living and learning. ;o)

Bobbi, they used to do a Classical Spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall around February time as well as November, but I can't see it listed for next year.
Question Author
That’s the one we went to last November, ideally I’d have loved to be at the Festival of Poppies but that’s always a sell out
Yes, I remember encouraging you to go.

Best advice I’ve ever taken as well Naomi
;o)
There is on original left according to Mrs sqad.
She loves all that, Les Miserable, phantom of the opers 3 times, Jersey Boys 3 times, Sound of music twice, Swan Lake.

That stuff leaves me cold and I refuse to accompany her LOL.........no wait a minute.....a group of us went to see Phantom, but in the foyer, I felt ill and had to return to the hotel, where by chance Manchester Utd were playing Honved and I ordered smoked salmon sandwiches, half a bottle of Champagne and watched the game.
Great night !
^
Can't believe Man Utd were playing Honved in the hotel, sqad :-)
Question Author
I should meet up with Mrs Sqad, I saw the Jersey Boys in London west End, I have no desire to see phantom, not my thing
Ken....LOL......that's why I ordered Room service, the hotel was packed ;-)

Bobbi....she would fly from Menorca to see those shows.
One of my favourites

Question Author
I like most of their stuff Canary
We loved Phantom - but I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. We didn't fancy it a bit but having been given the tickets as a gift we felt obliged to use them. It really is superb.
According to Google, the last original member of the Drifters, Bill Pinkney died aged 81 on 4th July. There have been 60 vocalists in various Drifter groups.
