First time I’ve really noticed it tonight, I don’t really mind the dark nights though

Lamas celebrates the grain harvest. In the UK the first day of autumn is 23rd August this year using the astronomical system; 1st September using the meteorological system.
As mentioned on the other thread, I'm a late August baby and always associate that time with the heat of NYC. I always looked forward to autumn as it meant relief from that heat, and I loved bundling up in wooly jumpers.
That's not the case anymore. It's already feeling cold by late August, early September. I dread the return to cold and wet...it's impossible to warm up here. Way too damp. At least winters across the pond are dryer and most importantly...sunnier. I really miss that.
So when does summer start? For me it's always been June 21st...and lasts 3 months.
We might get an Indian summer.
\\ Post early for Christmas! //
You must have the same idea as TK Maxx, I noticed yesterday they have their Halloween stock on display.
Nurdle nurdle
last night I pondered how light the nights still were

in an aubade, gloomy sort of way - 10pm
whilst we are here
Indian Summer does NOT refer to the end and glow of our glorious Indian Empire,
when it ended 1947 heralded a hundred years of economic stagnation
BUT
the long hot windy plains summer ( where the oppressed American Indians were before they were driven into the frozen North)
Ha! I noticed that too Vulcan. The plant pots/garden display is slowly shrinking as the goblins take over. We know what's coming in September :(
Aye, the nichts are fair drawin' in. Had heavy rain overnight which has done the garden the power of good. Quite like winter, so will try not to think about the utility bills at the moment!
Christmas before we know it, what an utterly depressing thought.
I'm an early riser so it's the darker mornings I dislike.
