Tora: Hopefully you will one day come to realise this site is not about you.
//Mozz (I guess) pours himself a small brandy and puts his feet up.//

Whiskey, and nothing small about it jno. ;-)

Nothing to do with political affiliations Tora, but considering how you tend to talk to anyone with a different political stance to your own (Remoaner/5C/Nasty Left etc) it is quite amusing to see you get all flustered over what was intended as a joke.

Now where did I put that bottle?
I think TORATORATORA needs all the pals he can get so the thought of losing an ally has clearly tipped him over the edge.
Ally? What made you think I was ever an ally?
Poor Kurds.
I’m sure any Kurds taking refuge in Finland and Sweden will be quietly allowed to escape to a sympathetic country. Erdogan Can claim a victory, but not actually get any ‘terrorists’ deported back to Turkey.
That’s probably true,
Erdogan couldn’t be seen just to acquiesce. So a lot of posturing and possibly some real horse trading
What really needs to happen is to persuade him to facilitate a naval escort for Ukraine merchant shipping but I don’t hold my breath
It's not being humourous to call someone who's acting a plonker (that being the politest term one might use) a plonker. And no we don't expect him to act sensibly regardless how unsuccessful, or otherwise, he is. However he has to act in a manner that takes his supporters with him if he is to remain in position, and bringing NATO into the conflict would be a strong incentive for others to decide to replace him. Nigh on all the most powerful nations taking military action against one's own nation should cause any general to reassess their nation's best option in the circumstances. And destroying the human race isn't something any government should tolerate.
