It's now 'LGBTIQ+' (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer or questioning) groups, according to an article I've just read on the BBC web site.

What's the '+' mean, & what might be added next?

Certainly odd
The entire acronym means anything outside the narrow margins of heterosexuality and the '+' stands for anything left undescribed by the 6 letters foregoing.
When it was just LGB it seemed to have far more direction and heft; now, the longer it grows, the more diluted it becomes.

My best friend was gay and absolutely HATED being called 'queer'.
In fact, when I hear that word used against someone, even in fun, it makes me cringe!
It's all a different way of describing an attention seeker.
Cheer up, dave50....

I am sure we could think of something to include you.
My friend was very shy and quiet in the company of people he didn't know.
When we were on our own, yes, he'd be the full-on gay type, but then, he did love a drop of just about anything, as long as it contained alcohol!

I find it annoying that the word 'gay' has been entirely appropriated by the homosexual community, it was used for centuries in the English language to denote light-heartedness & brilliance.

Not neurotic, needy and hedonistic then?
It’s going to end up reading like a dyslexic alphabet with a few letters missing.
there's now more letters in that acronym than in a typical strand of DNA.......
Said a mushroom
I'm afraid I can't get my brain round all the letters and in which order they occur. I am, though, aware that BLT is type of sandwich, so I tend refer to them all as Bacon Butties.
