I agree with Deskdiary. The Scots don't like the Conservatives, they know Labour is hopeless, so as the best of a bad bunch, the SNP succeed. The majority of Scots don't support their aims - the result of the referendum on Scottish independence bears witness to that - so therefore their dominance in Scotland is false.

I don't think politically active Scots are listening to the Tories (unfortunately).
// Scotland must shake off the "dead hand of nationalism" if it is to avoid becoming increasingly bitter and inward looking, the Scottish Conservative leader has said. //

And the Scottish people elected 45 SNP MPs compared to just 6 MPs for the Conservatives. Easy to see who the Scottish people believe, and who they think are talking out of their backside.
a rival party leader thinks so. I'm astonished.
The Conservative Party in Scotland reminds me of Corbyn at the last election. So out of touch with the voters, that they are laughable.

Party Conferences are supposed to be an opportunity to get your message out and convince the electorate. If all you can do is talk about other parties, then the conclusion is you have nothing to say that will appeal to Scottish voters.
It’s strange.
I think the SNP have some very good MPs and MSPs but I don’t think they’re good for Scotland collectively.
It’s never good when one party rules for too long.
Still, if people vote for them then that’s all that matters

Scots vote for the SNP to screw the best deal out of RUK. If Scotland ever gets independence the political map there will change dramatically.

It was actually 48 SNP MPs elected (including 1 who was suspended from the party and took his seat as an Independent) however if you then invoke "who the Scottish people believe" it is not "easy to see" from the 48:6, you have to look at the popular vote:

SNP ... 1,242,380
Con ... 692,939
It's a speech by the leader of the Scottish Conservative party, not really an objective opinion worth debating.
If PR were thing, and I know a lot of people on this site support PR (and if memory serves, Gromit is one of them - although if my memory is wrong, I apologise to him) the SNP dominance in Scawtland is false.
Up to the Scots to deside. As an Englishman, it isn't my duty to tell them how to vote.
Scotland (not Scawtland in case you actually can't spell) already has a combined FPP and PR voting system for the Scottish Parliament.
Deskdiary
Your memory is fairly good.
FPTP is terrible, the most undemocratic. The others are not perfect, but better.
Who cares the sooner they get Independence (and that means real independence nothing moves either way over the new wall money or people) then the sooner we can all start getting on with our lives.
//If PR were thing,……//

The SNP are all for it.. I don’t think the cons or labour are tho, so probably won’t happen… well for a while yet

// …the SNP dominance in Scawtland is false.//

We have AV for Holyrood Elections.. the SNP do ok by it.. we’ve had an SNP government up here for some time now, so I think your statement is false
