Today's Wordle

Couldn't get it so I just looked it up. I've never heard of the word in my life. Anyone else heard it before?

The Thursday wordle.

At line 2, I had 3 letters in the wrong place
At line 3, I had those 3 letters in the right place.
At line 4, my guess was wrong.
At line 5, my guess was wrong.
At line 6, I got it right.

I was lucky to get it a 6 because there were 3 more words that fitted, that I could have wrongly chose.

I didn't get today's Wordle. After three tries I needed one letter but had at least six options. I guessed wrong three times :(

Er yes. That was my point jno. It's luck.

It's possible to get 5 letters in the right place on the first go and still not get the answer if your subsequent guesses are unlucky.

Have a go at this one.

You could make nine perfectly good attempts and still not guess the word, or you could be lucky and get it the next go.

I also play the Daily Challenge in Wordament - three different games a day, some very easy, others quite tricky. Totally different to Wordle

You need to confirm some vowels early in the game and be able to discard quite a few consonants within a couple of guesses.
Then you have a good chance of solving.

So don't keep trying with your "green or yellow" letters.
Mix and match.

I got it in 6 today. There were so many words that it could have been so I just had to guess.

Well, stop putting yourself in a situation where you have to guess the last letter, or two.
Keep in mind what letters you have, put those aside, save them. Use other letters with random words to reduce those on offer.
It's not just a guessing game.
