....was Robert Pershing Wadlow, he reached 8ft 11 and weighed 199kg at his death aged only 22. He continued to grow due to hypertrophy of his Pituitary gland which puts out a lot of HGH and basically continues to do so when normally it would stop. Today it would be a relatively simple issue to resolve.

I always used to get a feeling of sadness when reading or seeing articles and filmsabouthim. He must have been in significant pain a lot of the time.

dont we grow till 21 anyway 22 isnt much time to continue to grow lol
As Spike Milligan said, " If only he'd quit smoking, he could have made 10 feet ! "
Interesting that contrary to the fairytale, giantess does not give enhanced strength, but the exact opposite - weakness and increasing health problems leading to premature death.

Wow now that is tall, one of my best friends is 6-7" and when I first met his family (social gathering) it was like blimey its like land of the giants.

I'm not suggesting they build the causeway in Ireland but it wouldn't surprise me ;-)

great video mamy, thanks
Back in the 50's when i was a kid, there was a guy lived near us who was 7' 4". Everyone called him Tiny. Not the tallest man for sure but unusual though. My nephew was 6' 10" at the age of 12. His mum had no end of trouble finding clothes for him, not to mention footwear. He's in his mid-30's now and 7' 1".
the tallest Dutchman was Albert Johan Kramer, who was probably just under 8ft tall. His brother in law was said to be 2ft 3in. They did a variety act. I'm not sure there wasn't some over or underestimating going on, though.
