I have just watched a few of her latest - think it is called Justice Judy or something like that but I am not enjoying it as much as her oldies.

Why does she need the two ladies either side of her - she never had them before and poor Byrd has been replaced with a look alike.

What channel is that on?? I’m literally watching one of her old ones right now - I didn’t even know there was a new version!

oh yes Smow - and she has a ponytail - don't like it.

I can get it on IMDB (think that's the right one) - SkyQ
Me either, I still watch some of the old ones on occasion.
Why on earth would they get rid of Officer Byrd??
The new series Judy Justice is not the same. One of the two girls is a paralegal who happens to be one of her granddaughters.
Ohhhh I’m not liking the sound of it at all ! : (
I saw a couple of episodes of Judge Judy and couldn't see the appeal. The parties were paid to appear on the show and the producers paid the 'fine'. A win, win for both sides - much like Judge Rinder
I know what you mean Barry, I just like seeing what absolutely daft things people actually go to court for! Lol
I have to admit I did not know that the producers paid the fines, I always thought they did initially but then they claimed it from the prosecuted. That's probably why capped at $5,000.
It also amazes what folk think they can get away with.
yes JJ had the last prog 3650 th prog
and then she came back repackaged a few weeks later

wivva difft format - the two ladies one each side are assessors.
current belief that judge should be assisted with assessors

times change - the high ct judge who asked - "who are the Beatles " was applauded at the time to show wisdom and detached otherworldliness
now wd get a difft treatment - someone who judges current events must know about current events
// I have to admit I did not know that the producers paid the fines,

awards - not fines ( fines go to the govt by defn)
they have to put up a defence - hence it was a gift or else without a good fight, the producers wont pay

I dont know how she gets over the
"visit in 5 days wivva police officer and get your stuff....."

in dear old blighty, you cant get a police officer if there is a dead bodyu outside !

I quite like this judge.
That's the very new series, are you in the UK? I read where Byrd had been considered too expensive for the new format, one of the two women is one of her grandaughters.

I love the kindly judge in Providence.
On one show of this type, probably Judge Rinder, two friends hatched a story just to get on the show. As well as being paid to appear plus expenses including hotel and travel, they split the award between them. Easy money, I suspect they are not the only ones to do it.

In Judge Judy some of the cases are found by researchers going through old real court cases. If they think it would make good TV they contact the parties involved and ask them to rehash their case in front of Judy, for financial reward obviously.
It's cheap TV that many find entertaining.
