The kitchen is going to be lived in - that's the whole point. And no kitchen that was only fitted a week ago is going to have a "lived in" look.

Oh, and if if floats your boat talking to your self, so be it ;-)
Sigh!
Ladycg, once again APG is not me!

Don't sigh for me, Argentina!

I'm off out into Birmingham tonight for cocktails and dinner as I missed out on Genesis last night.
Going for champagne and a strawberry?
Where are you going for dinner, lcg?

Not sure, Naomi. We are undecided but we won't have a problem getting a table. At the moment it could be Lasan, The Ivy or Noel's.
The worst enemy of granite worktops is lemon/orange juice, vinegar, or wine. The expensive, dense, granite tops are usually not going to give the average user any trouble for years to come. They are polished and sealed when being prepared for supply and installation and if they are not a crap product supplied by a dodgy dealer and baring accidents or vandalism will need minimal care. If however you are clumsy and prone to acidic spills you are best to go for a manmade product that is impervious to all liquids. Somehow I don't think that Naomi or LadyCG are the types to slosh their white wine about like farmers, or to spill acid wantonly. I have seen lime stone tops, sold as marble, that have rotted into deep hopes that stink like bad eggs after having a lemon sliced on them. Despite being a jolly good children's tv show once the wooden tops are a nightmare.
You ladies who lunch ... Let me recommend Yr Hen Fecws(The Old Bakery) on the harboursidein Porthmadoc if ever you find yourselves thataways. Wonderful nosh, great staff, superb place to sit and eat.
Kitchen looking good Lady.
Thanks Togo. It’s hard work here at times. ;o)

I like Birmingham, LCG. Great shopping. We sometimes go for long weekends.
I like Wales too, Togo. The last time we went we liked it so much we stayed for three weeks instead if two! Beautiful place.

Thanks, Togo. We are pleased with how it is shaping up.

Do you live far from Birmingham, Naomi? It'll probably take us about 45 minutes to drive in and park up, with traffic and everything.

Yes, quite a long way from Birmingham.

You're right about the shopping, it's pretty good.

There are some wonderful restaurants now all around the city. I keep telling myself to visit Moseley as there are some lovely bars and restaurants there.

There's no way I could use that bathroom and feel safe... Expecting one of them to pop like a zit and get covered in puss, or a few of them start cracking open at the same time and few creatures start emerging.
I haven’t been there - a least I don’t think so.
enjoy, get a good bottle of wine ready for Friday evening to celebrate the opening of la salle de bonne cuisine et dégustation..
