Geronimo is to be put to sleep tomorrow.

I agree that, if he has TB he should be destroyed, but what if his owner is right and the test is flawed.

It's not really just about one animal amongst thousands that are slaughtered daily it's about the heavy-handedness and inflexible government rules (not just the Tories or the UK govt).

I've eaten an al paca burger before and very nice it was, a soft lamb taste to it.

Seriously, an independent witless at the autopsy should be de rigeur in this case....

Hoo Coo boogers are just as good!
A friend of mine had one of her alpacas put down a while ago. A vet came to the field and put him down quietly while my friend stroked him. Geronimo's situation was turned into a circus by the owner and the animal rights people and that needn't have happened.
As it should be done....

All animal slaves/servants have, at one time, had to have an animal put to sleep. The last thing that you want to do is stress the animal out.

I understand that his owner didn't want him to die but the media and the protesters turned it into a media circus. There are no winners.
Alpacas don't fare well on their own either - they get very stressed hence he tried to get into the field with the others. Sad all round.
As far as I can tell, the owner put this "infected" animal in amongst others in an attempt to make it difficult for the ministry men to identify it. If the other animals are now infected or suspected of infection, do they get the same treatment and if so who is to blame?
