Whilst in town this morning me and my friend walked past a largish police van, a youth, scruffy looking with a back to front baseball cap,was banging on the windows shouting at the top of his Geordie voice
“Hoo ( hey) Didyi lock me Ma up last neet ( night), when yi ganna( going) ti lerra oot man “

Pilgrim Street, which runs parallel to Grey Street, is where the local nick is. Market Street, which runs between the two, houses the police station and magistrates'court, with an underground passage leading to the nick. Don't know if it's changed recently.

Still running strong up here William although there’s Geordie and there’s Geordie, some of it is quite corse which I thankfully don’t speak :0)
