A vehicle belonging to "Door Doctor" has been parked continually on our road for almost 6 months now. It never moves,, it's just for advertising purposes. It is taxed. It is a residential road . Has anyone else experienced the same situation and been able to have it moved? The company also has another of the vans parked around Bingley purely for the same purpose. Is there a limit to the length of time a vehicle can be parked in the same place on a public highway. Any advice would be welcome please.

i'm just finding links that show you are wrong mate.
Report it to the authorities as possibly abandoned ?
I agree with OG. See if there is a form on the website for your council for reporting abandoned cars.
We had one just the same. After compaints they just used to move it a few feet up or down the same road ! We were told that , that was OK as there was nothing to say how far it had to be moved to avoid being a 'static' sign ! Someone was told moving it 6ft once every 6 months was enough ! So that's all it did ! 6ft up the road then a few weeks later 6 ft back down again !
I also heard the 'The Door Doctor' LOVES questions like this !! So much extra publicity all free of charge !!

Link ^^^ Please.
^^ It was years ago ! 7 or 8 years at a guess !

I am with Dannyk13 on this issue.
The London Borough of Croydon use Section 38 of the London Authorities Act 1990 to enforce illegal Street Trading by use of advertisments on a Public Highway. That includes any goods or services advertising without a Street Traders Licence.
Perhaps the complainant should enquire with their local council and their current Bye laws with regards to this nuisance.
EDDIE51 Maybe some publicity is always good? But a lot of negatives on this thread about this particular form of advertising.
I also heard that the fine for this is so low the advertiser just looks at it as Running costs ! The publicity of the court case gets them even more advertising !!
There used to be loads round here, but they have all disappeared recently, so I guess the local authority can deal with it if they want to.
the advertising may well be illegal but the main thrust of this post is about the parking in the street.
This may be...
TTT agree yes nothing to do with advertising, just a parked car.

I wish it was vandalised, maybe it would be be moved then? Getting fed up of seeing it.
You need to contact the Council, not the police
Crosspatch maybe it will get vandalised?
