Flu Like Symptoms

I wasn't going to post about this as there have been numerous posts already on this subject but.....

I had my cv jab yesterday lunchtime. I thought I'd just have a sore arm like most have mentioned, however last night I woke up shivering and this morning I have a temperature and aching all over. I struggled to even walk to the bathroom.

Last time I felt like this was when I had flu several years ago. Did anyone else get this after their jab?

Yes. It's a recognised symptom. I had no sore arm or any trace of where I was injected except a tiny red mark. Actually my initial symptom was extreme tiredness, followed by the flu like symptoms. I felt under the weather for probably about a week.

I was badly affected by the flu jab in 2019 and that was much worse than the AZ jab.
I was told it was due to the adjuvant Sqalene (shark oil) added for the over 65s. . I was ill for months afterwards. I was reassured by my GP that the AZ was free of any oil. I shall never have the over 65 jab again and they won't let me have the under 65 jab!

My OH had no reaction at all to the AZ jab.

Yes. My daughter had exactly the same after her AZ jab. It all cleared up the next day.

My youngest daughter had hers a week ago. (Has asthma) Next day she had bad flu like symptoms. The worst of it lasted two days. She had the AZ, too.

alavahalf, have you been in touch with your GP? I know a lot of people have had a reaction, myself included, but not lasting that long.

I had my AZ vaccination this week and felt OK for the first few hours and then like you, cold, hot, and very achy. I had a feeling I would feel a bit rough as I had the same with the flu jab so I took two paracetamol before I went and two about 4 hours later. I was tired all through day 2 and not quite with it, but fully recovered by day 3.

My arm still hurts like its been whacked with a crow bar though and its now day 5.

OH had no issues at all, not even a slightest sting in the arm.

It is Maydup. I took some more paracetamol around 5 which has brought my temperature down but still aching all over.
