Just Had A Scam Call From Bt

Anyone else had a call supposedly from BT saying your network isn’t working properly and to switch on the internet? Number was 01772705388. Scam or what? I told her where to place her phone.

Oooh, I gave similar instructions to an Amazon scammer yesterday!

My latest when I get these calls is to ask them how they sleep at night when they know that they are trying to steal peoples money as they do not work for who they say they do.

I can't believe how many people answer calls to numbers they don't know. I just let it ring and then Google the number. If it comes up as unsafe I block it.

We had a call from a number we didn't recognise the other day. It was an invitation to attend a covid vaccination clinic. Glad I didn't ignore it.

They usually use messages if it's important and you can phone them back.

Why does Bt not block these numbers I’m sure they could come up with summit.it must go through the exchanges somewhere now they have a number to go on

BT can only investigate BT numbers apparently. I have almost been rude to genuine calls as well, have to bite my lip sometimes. I love the “Have you had an accident?” calls. I string them along, say yes I had a really bad accident etc etc, then say after 10 minutes I have been decapitated, I only have a head. Then they hang up. Love it.
