This morning I had a phone call from some foreign person saying they were calling regarding Amazon Prime. To let me know, I think she said £39.99 was coming out of my bank account. I told her I had not signed up for this and they were not to take any money from my account. She apologised and said if I log on to my pic she would talk me through the cancellation. I told her it wasn't convenient right now as I had just got out of the shower. I suggested she call back in an hour. She agreed.
I rang my bank and asked them to put a stop on it. They said they couldn't until they tried to take the cash then they would reimburse me. They said it was a very prevalent scam at the moment.
She rang me back later. I told her I know it's a scam and I have an app that connects up telephone numbers with the address it was sent from so I have called the police and they are on their way. Boy did she hang up quick!
I haven't got the app by the way, it would be good if there was one though!

I have had several dozen scam phonecalls like this...the answerphone picks them up...only problem is that they tell me the amount will be taken on dollars and I pay in sterling!
Why do you bother interacting with these people? Tell them nothing - nothing whatsoever. Just put the phone down.
not only will they restore £40
but they need to take over your computer to do it electronically
and pass words
and some people DO ! ( give up all this)

they always put the phone down first - and I think it must be because I say that there is someone else with me

one chinese girl told me to frack off and I thought that was MOST unladylike and told her !
I don't answer to numbers I don't know. Then I google the number and usually block it.

I had a text message from Amazon saying my order hasn't gone through and I needed to update my details, click on the link..blah blah. I hadn't ordered anything.
I just lay the phone down, not on the cradle, so the line is still open, I leave it until I want to use it. That could be several hours. They are paying for the call and they don't phone you again!
I don't have a landline phone.
