Says there is no doubt in his mind it’s safe for children to go back to school .Fine but will he admit to the consequences if he is proved wrong and at least resign .

Why would he resign? He's not making all the decisions, he has advisors. Anyone would think he's running the country single handed the way they carry on.

Safety is a relative issue.
Folk are entitled to believe whichever side of the discussion they wish.
Kids are less vulnerable so we are told.
Hardly a resignation issue. No one would ever make a decision in such a draconic society were that so. If one takes advice and can justify one's conclusion then that's all one can be expected to do.

didn't watch it to be fair, its not up to him alone, i thought if the teaching unions come out against opening the schools then that would be the case.

okay so it’s difficult but does his words instil in people confidence on sending children into school when he does not know all the facts .Schools have quite a few adults there working and as was said people and kids maybe while not having it could be carrying it and bringing it home to vulnerable people. We can’t meet in a garden but we can send out kids in amongst hundreds of other kids . For for Boris to say he has no doubts well where’s he coming from ?

100% with you weecalf! We live in Cumbria, my son and daughter in law are teachers and are being sent back, I take my grandson to his school too, that's 4 routes of infection for my family. The schools don't have any of this so called gov safety system nor been offered them. All the other countries not starting until 11th. Does the rest of the nation outside the school closure umbrella not matter? Why? What are these deciding facts? Disaster coming!

This is not an anti Boris thread . I So want Boris to be right so he has to be sure before coming out with statements like that peoples lives depend on it .

i know they depend on it, school children are now getting this virus, one poster put a note out about a ward full of children in hospital with covid 19 - not sure where in the country, but reckon this will escalate with this new varient on the rise.

i don't know whether he was right or wrong, trouble is shutting down the schools for how long? what will be effective.

And our Prime Minister does a huge U-Turn and admits schools are places were transmissions are occurring, and shuts them for 6 weeks.

We done PM for admitting the bleedin obvious, even if it has taken weeks, and you have dragged your heels and talked nonsense until the last second before you finally do the right thing.
