Been for blood test at hospital - no queue, in and out in 6 minutes so no parking fee (first 15 minutes free)
Phoned Virgin to negotiate price rise, settled down with a cuppa expecting to spend an hour on the phone. Done and dusted in 10 minutes, £30 a month discount for 18 months and doubled internet speed. The bill had only gone up £6!

I'm on a roll so I'm off to change the beds - a job I hate, Hopefully I won't disappear in to the duvet covers as I usually do.

please can you phone virgin for me too?
I don't mind doing washing up or pegging out washing in return
I did the same with Sky when my bill went up by £13 pm. I'm now saving £20 pm and have a WiFi booster.
oh I only change the bedding when it sticks to the wall

bednobs, I just tell Virgin I'm not prepared to pay the increase and that I'll go elsewhere if they don't reduce the bill. They know there is lots of competition and I have been with them many years.
Question Author
I don't really need the speed increase so after 18 months if needs be I'll tell them to put back to a slower speed.
Oh goodness...I need to phone Virgin also. I'm paying waaaay too much without any bells and whistles.

Are you still under contract, pasta? It's far easier to get discounts if you are free to go elsewhere.
Still, it is worth a try.

Spend a few minutes checking what other providers can offer - if you can tell Virgin that you get an equal or better service with Sky, BT, Talktalk or whoever for £x less then they'll probably give you a good deal.
I absolutely loathe changing bedding!
you just need to change your bedding provider, smow... Sky might do it more cheaply
I do actually wonder if I should just drop down my package. We have full house, but find we now need the TV much less. As long as mrB can still get walking dead somehow, all's cool
also agreed re bedding. I need a cleaner :(

bednobs, check the channels you normally watch and see if you will still get them, this guide will tell you what package you really need
