Anyone know anything about famous autographs?

I am signing something I got from a now deceased musician, and after a little research, I find it looks like it is rare and valuable.

I put it on e-Bay before I found out it was worth a lot, and I started the auction at £3 and in under an hour I had an offer of £120, so I know I have something valuable.

Simple question is - does anyone know the best auction site to get the best price for something like this?

Any advice appreciated, as always.

Don't you have to prove it's genuine? They are always saying on Flog It that it has to have provenance?( I think that's what they call it)
Yes Barsel, i think you do. What proof do you have Andy?

It's a little different with autographs- if you know the genuine article, you recognize it when you see it, so the auction house will know its real.

Someone once proudly showed me a Morrissey autograph he had paid a lot of money for - I had to break the news that it was fake. I knew because I had a Morrissey autograph, and all mine are signed by the artist in front of me, so I recognize a fake because I know what the real thing looks like.
E- bbay is as good as anywhere, if you know an approximate value.Auction houses charge commission.
Dave had a load of autographs, including some of the LFC greats, Shankley, Fagan, etc. He passed them on to a fellow fan a younger lad we got on really well with. As well as some rare and important match programmes. He knew they were worth quite a bit as a package but he wanted them to be with someone who knew their non monetary worth. I have the showbiz ones. Mostly minor
Are you not going to give us a clue Andy? Is it a fellow Manc?
Oops sorry Andy I was getting you mixed up with someone else.
He's not a Manc...the autograph must be Bobbin Williams.
