if you needed to contact a famous celebrity, (I'm talking tv presenter status), would you contact them via the company (BBC, ITV,), or their own personal address
what have people's experiences been like?

Do people 'need' to contact celebrities for autographs?

PS I realise people might choose to do so, of course! And I don't think many of the personal addresses would be available to all and sundry.
Look on their website, or contact them via their agent. Alternatively hang around at the stage door and grab them in person.
Via an agent is the best way, or via the address of the TV station where they work.

Requests to personal addresses will most likely be ignored.
Be careful if this is what you are planning to do. Quite a lot of autographs are signed by whoever happens to be around at the time. Watching antique programmes I've seen many Beatles fans who have fake signatures. You are better to try and catch people at stage doors etc and get autographs that you witness.
As a young man I'd hang about outside the ITV studios. Got lucky a couple of times in the early 90s.
Stage door. I have Tommy Steele, Edmundo Ross, Torville and Dean, Chita Rivera and many of the London cast of West Side Story, Eliot Gould. From the Casino in Deauville Johnny Ray and tennis players Pancho Gonzales, Manuel Santana
Most are on Twitter.

Years ago I had a thing for a particular footballer. My bf at the time sent a card to the team and they ALL signed it and sent it back.

More recently some friends of mine got married. They particularly enjoyed the music of a very minor celebrity (the male of the couple and I had met him in a pub in Tottenham Court Road in the 90s). I wrote to him via his website (reminding him of our drunken evening) to enquire if he might send a card. He wrote a lovely email in response and sent a card and a CD of his songs he had put together for the couple with a personal intro.

Celebs get 1000s of requests every day so make yours stand out.
i am mildly surprised that people still collect autographs!
