right - thanks book - was enquiring about a gentleman who gets DLA, old age pension and just lifts his money every week so doesn't know really. I was just wondering re this TV licence thingy that if he was on pension credit he would get a free TV licence. Would that be right.
yes if he was. He would have had to apply for it, and that's not the sort of thing you forget. I didn't think DLA existed anymore?
Question Author
DLA doesn't exist now bednobs it is called PIPs but if a person has been on DLA in the past - it is referred to DLA for that person. hope that makes sense.

Also in the past when a person was over 65 and was entitled to it - it was known as Attendance Allowance. It is a little confusing
I didn't think it was - I thought everyone had now been moved over to PiP
If he has lost the Award letter, he should phone Pension Credit and ask them if he is in receipt of it.
If your friend is over 75 and is receiving pension credit, he gets a free tv licence, but it doesn't come automatically. It has to be claimed.
