this should be in food but just want to let you know all - that I will never buy ready made meals again - they're all "nothing".

Nothing compared to your own home cooking. Bought 3 individual meals recently according to one poster here. I could have ate the 3 meals together.

Prawn, 3 pieces, Chicken Arriabariat, 4 pieces (if I was lucky) and spaghetti bologonese - tommy sauce and a piece of meat.

No not for me. Will cook my own and freeze.

Ready meals have a place. No one needs to buy them I’d they don’t want to.

They have a place in modern society. Before they were invented, they didn't have a place and people managed perfectly well without them.

They do have a place, if your legs and back won't let you stand or your arms are fit to drop off then that's the day that cooking from scratch may be tough.

I love to batch cook and freeze portions, I need a bigger freezer. :-)

I've been looking at new freezers. I have a big chest freezer but I need another one. Or I could just chuck the spare people out....

My elderly Gran didn't leave our village for 15 years. She managed to survive without a microwave and meals encased in plastic. Sorry but it is possible if people really want to do so but they don;t

Have I imagined a thread on here about malnutrition in children during the pandemic? I'm wondering how much, if any, ready meals might be to blame?

Tried an M&S fish pie once, it was lovely, seemed to be crammed full of various fish in a lush sauce.

I do buy ready meals for when I can’t be bothered to cook, but in general I like cooking and will put any extra in the freezer.

I've bought M and S ready to cook things, but not full meals. What I have bought though, have almost never been enough for 2 people. They must think we have the appetite of a fussy 10 year old.

We’re having a Sainsbury's Thai take away box tomorrow evening, assuming it comes in our click and collect and isn’t out of stock.
It’ll make a nice change and we’re looking forward to it.
I’m sure there are those who would turn their noses up at it but to be quite frank it bothers me not a jot :)

Oh yes, do label them otherwise you too might find yourself trying to make a lasagne with chilli sauce instead of the bolognese sauce I thought I was defrosting!
