Poor woman, but she could have just as easily been attacked by a vicious human being whilst out and about in her daily life, there are a lot of them out there ! There are also a lot of loving and loved cats out there too, so as far as I'm concerned your thread is null and void !

I like cats very much, but Siamese cats are evil
All cats are evil, especally the black *** that thinks our bird feeding points are there to act as his restaurant.
Most cat owners are scratched by them. Poor lady was very unfortunate for it to turn nasty. I've never, personally, been able to take to Siamese cats. Glad she made a full recovery. Awful for her.
How does she know she caught it from the cat? She'd been gardening beforehand. Maybe she had something on her skin and the scratch fascilitated entry of the bacteria. I remember loads of hype in the newspapers years ago about nectotizing facciitis developing in hospital patients. It can be caught anywhere because it's bacterial.
Good point 237..
The first day that I was adopted by Frankie and Princess Merlin I was attacked by Merlin. She bit me nine times in one hand and it took months for the infection to clear up (not helped by me being diabetic).

It comes with the territory to a certain degree. A dog that attacks its owner does so for only a few bad reasons. Cats bite/scratch etc because you are doing something wrong and they are annoyed with you.

This woman's experience was extreme but I think that all Cat slaves tend to forget that they are not fully domesticated animals but they are cute and intelligent killing machines.

cats have decimated the song birds in my area, seems cats wont have a go at crows..so they have taken over..
My cat has never scratched me.
