I think it’s all tactical.

Each MP has to look to how their constituents will vote. They then have to make a decision on how best to keep on side. (I know, I know they don’t always care what their constituents think).

But
the problem is that although they are well hidden Labour do have 1 or 2 with some brains and they would have worked out they 'll get tub cuffed on prime time, Jezza will get the order of the daisy shortly after and Labour will once again start to realise that hard line socialism is never attractive to the public. Their marxist dream will be over and sensible Labour may just emerge in a position to fight an election in 2024. Hence they are furious at Jezza!
