Had four days away in Torquay. I had forgotten how hilly it is, and all the little back lanes that the satnav take you on.
We stayed at a holiday park. They upgraded us to a luxury model without us paying any extra that was good.
Had no internet connection though. We took a dongle with us but we couldn't remember how to use it!!!
Getting too old for this going away malarkey, it knocks me about something awful. Makes me feel I don't want to go away again!

Any river trips in pouring rain with nothing to see?
Question Author
We were going to go on the river Dart trip but the weather was against us.
We went to Paignton Zoo. That was quite interesting. They have a good offer on disabled visitors. One carer goes free per disable visitor. That saved £14.
Also went to Traigo Mills. Now that is a place to see. An enormous retail complex that takes hours to see it all.
Found some brilliant places to eat. Best mussels we have ever had!
There is a decent motor museum not to far away from Torquay in Totnes, worth a visit.
Now you tell her!
Welcome back x
Off we went to the English Riviera
following the satnav in our ford sierra
We had four days in wonderful Torquay
River trips in rain with nothing to see
We had forgot about all the damned hills
So spent the next day at Traigo Mills
the fresh mussel were great
and just disappeared off the plate
a day at the zoo and our lodgings upgraded
but to go again I will have to be persuaded

think that covers all
Did you go to the one at Newton Abbott? We usually go to the one at Liskeard whenever we go to St Ives. It's a family tradition... flask of tea at the Tamar Bridge, Trago Mills and then St Ives.
Funny, I have also just got back from Torquay and what a wonderful weekend. I visited Cockington, an amazing thatched Village with
lunch at The Drum which, is a very old Pub that serves a very varied menu. Morning Coffee at the Meadfoot Beach Cafe, disabled parking. Another favourite is a drive to Brixham for Fish and Chips! Another day I caught the train from Paignton to Kingswear and took the Ferry across the Dart to Dartmouth and yes more food a wonderful Crab Sandwich. The train journey is very scenic. Now I am back and on a diet! I can't wait for my next trip to Devon.
Caran, for a long time now, I have only gone away because of the children. I seem to have lost any interest in travelling now, as it is a lot of extra organisation which I don't have time for.
I've been to those places before. Remember meeting Keith Floyd, who had a restaurant around there (I'm sure), called the Maltster's Arms (I think... lol). Is a lovely place to visit though xx
