I would stick to VLC anyday.

What's that, Mal? I just have RP to have a playlist, which I use from time to time. Not heard of VLC. Have I?
Of all the media players I've tried (inc RP) I've found VLC to be the least invasive, most inclusive (except for DVD) and simplest to use. I've had this backed up by IT professionals.
Ask others what they use and I'll bet that VLC is top of the list. It has a playlist function.
Ok. Google this:
"most popular media player"
...and when you've uninstalled Real Player, make sure you scan your computer for malware!
Just to back up the posts above:
I thought that RealPlayer was dead! You're the first person I've seen posting about it for well over a decade. All of the computer magazines, together with BBC technology programmes and features in the 'heavyweight' press are in complete agreement that there's only one media player that anyone should ever need, which is the might VLC:
https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.en-GB.html
(You DON'T need Windows Media Player, which is very basic and clunky in comparison to VLC. You DON'T need iTunes, which the editors of computer magazines regularly list among software hich should NEVER be on anyone's PC. You most definitely DON'T need RealPlayer, whch was designed primarily for a file format that nobody uses any more).

As has been suggested, now that you've got loads of junk on your PC then (as well as deleting all those cookies) you should run a malware scan. If you've already got Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) on your PC, then use that. However a fresh installation of MBAM includes a free trial of the Premium version, which can slow some computers down considerably. So I recommend using AdwCleaner instead. (It's 'out of the same stable', and therefore uses the same database of malware, but there's no need to install it. You simply run the downloaded file directly):

Thanks for the replies, especially yours Chris. Very informative, as usual. I'll give VLC a try. Actually, I've never had a problem with RP. I only noticed all the cookies after the recent update.
