The Ireland situation Danny has this far stymied Brexit.
Unless the Brutish government accepts the compromise which it itself effectively demanded and negotiated (the sensible third option I have alas discounted) there are two options: Brexit doesn’t happen somehow or the UK simply breaks away. And the latter option will inevitably cause a hard border in Ireland eventually as much as anything as an increasingly isolationist UK seeks to close the immigration “back door” via the republic.
I can’t see the UK of GB and N Ireland as it now exists surviving that
There was no compromise there was an alternative ridiculous suggestion that no sane nation could possibly accept. As always the ball is in the EU court.
