Does anyone know how the 17 year old was able to take the 6 year away from his mother?
Secure mental institution for life then. But I won't hold my breath.
Snatched it says in some reports ZM.
Cheers, YMB. Strange strange times we live in.
Snatched but the woman screams 'where's my son'?

She must have said that after he had been thrown.
That bit was strange. If he was literally snached from the mother then she would have known where her son was. I think the reporting may be little inaccurate.
She might have been holding his hand. 6 year olds let go of their parents hands all the time so initially you might not panic, just turn to take their hand back...and he was gone.

Is that supposed to be amusing peace lily?
It was reported the perpetrator of this evil act was heard to blame Social Services. He had been acting odd in the lounge one witness told her son not to venture near him.
That was about 15 mins ago i'm unsure how you know what that said

And no it wasn't meant to be funny. It was a thought of mine.
Because I read what it said. It was for all to see you sad person.
Sad?

My levels of sad probably don't compare to the boys mother. But yes, it is distressing thinking of such a horrible act.
Once again we try to find rational reasons for irrational behaviour, and sadly, the short answer is - there are none.

This is not the act of a rational mind - that can be stated with certainty.

The reasons around that irrationality remain to be revealed, but trying to analyse this rationally gets us nowhere except upset, so we have to sympathise, but not dwell, which helps no-one.
disgraceful - injuries apparently not life-threatening....if so, it's bloody lucky - however the 17 yr old needs to be put away in somewhere like Broadmoor. What the hell was he thinking?
DTC - // What the hell was he thinking? //

Nothing within a country mile of rational thought, that we can be sure of.
I know - a deep padded cell inside a very secure place such as Guantanomo Bay equivalent would be most appropriate either as a judgement or whatever section order they want to nail him with.

'Out of life threatening but still critical' seems to be the current status (Beeb News headlines).....the poor French parents and family....

I find that suggestion impossible to argue against.

This from the DM explains it I suppose but not why he was out on his own. Looks like someone's got a lot to answer for. The victim is still improving.

//The teenage suspect - who cannot be named for legal reasons - is thought to suffer from schizophrenia and is normally only allowed out of a secure home when accompanied by two carers. A former carer said the teenager was 'one of the most difficult and challenging mental patients I've ever encountered.' Police are investigating whether the teenager escaped from the secure unit or managed to get free of one of his carers. A teenager has now been charged with attempted murder and will appear at Bromley Youth Court today. \\
It would be very hard to escape a secure unit. He more than likely slipped away from his carers.
