It's looking like a "non event Clarion" but when it was made public how many women that he had had, then is post as P/M was assured.

I think because eventually Tory party members will ultimately decide on new leader and PM, so its a way for the candidates to "publicise" themselves.

Yep. I get that Tony. They obviously want publicity. Is the Tory party paying for the air time? Paying for the TV stations to put out this propaganda? It's not as if it's an election where we all have a choice, is it?

It's being shown because it's news. Unfortunately the media also want to fill their schedule with debates, even though it's an internal Tory affair who gets selected. Thus the power of the media to manipulate politicians.

Still it gives those desperate candidates, who are apparently controlled by their team are told they must join that circus, a chance to *** off others, talk gibberish, and throw a poor light on their party exposing the internal squabbles.

I can't understand why they think that they'll fool anyone yet again that the EU will move on the important disagreements, though. Surely all they are exposing is their willingness to delay for evermore in the hope they can eventually call it off.
