Holland is to take on renting out their empty prison space to the Norwegians.

Shouldn't we do this and help relieve the overcrowded prisons in Britain. After all, London up to probably Hull is closer to Rotterdam/Den Haag/Amsterdam than Scotland is......?

Makes a lot of sense, IMO

There is a large pool of redundant screws here in NI and Crumlin Rd prison lies idle. Two or three thousand prisoners could be transported here from the mainland to serve their sentences. There's no need to get foreigners involved.
I believe the Royal Navy decommissioned a large Commando/Helicopter Assault vessel for scrap. Why not employ these larger vessels as Prison Hulks a la Napoleonic Wars?

The last hulk to hold prisoners leaked about 7, I think. HMS Maidstone that was in '72.
Spot on DTC.
oi, I've been saying this for years. We should outsource our prisons to, say , Turkey or Thailand where they know how to run a prison.
we seem to outsource everything else; could work out more cost effective too.
Holland no, Thailand, Turkey, yes. JOAB the screamer's jails are probably more like Butlins than ours!
