Gness and I have got half a dozen of these cameras between us - reasonably easy to set up (needs a wifi network) and you can view the output from the camera on your phone (as well as it being recorded to the card).
I can't think why you would need a memory card, since I'm assuming you're thinking of a live system to check that she's OK. If you do need a card the one recommended by BB is no good. I used one of those in a dashcam; after having card problems I contacted Sandisk and was told that for continuous use you need a High Endurance card (NOT High Performance). They agreed to change their "Lifetime Warranty" card on a one-off basis.
Sandisk included use in monitoring cameras in their reply. The problem is you might have a failure on the bit you particularly need. My problem wasn't compete failure, just occasional blocks being corrupted, making that part of the recording useless.
Just to add, I bought the one recommended by Gness and SD when Mr F was very poorly. It was a blessing, meant I could be out for a little while, and still keep an eye on him over my mobile phone, as well as listen and speak to him if needed.
Excellent investment.
Ric can you please clarify what you're after .....
do you have a full system already in place and you're after a monitor (screen) to place in your mum's bedroom so that you can view the cameras from there;
or are you after a camera to monitor your mum's bedroom??
I should have been a whole lot clearer
I have a YI camera set up in the living room but want another for the bedroom
Anyway - I’ve ordered another on amazon (Black Friday)
