Watched part 2 of this last night and was very disappointed. Looked so promising after an exciting first episode but last night's was just far fetched and boring.

Had it not been for the brilliance of his barrister, the late George Carman QC, they would have been convicted.
Lots to enjoy in this. I particularly remember it, as my sisters went to a flower show in deepest Devon that Thorpe was due to open at the height of the breaking scandal, and they ended up on the BBC evening News!
I’m surprised Norman Scott finds the way he is portrayed so objectionable. He comes across very well. How we were meant to find him some sort of mincing fantasist at the time. Rather shaming really.
One odd thing tho: his hair is not right, or at least never changes from 1962 to 1979.
All in all tho a great piece of ‘stranger than fiction’ drama - the conversation between Thorpe and his wife in part 3 is hilarious.

And little throwaway lines such as : ‘we’ve got some great new talent coming through: Cyril Smith and Clement Freud’ Er, quite
