This man has been on the TV this week rubbishing Brexit. Prise coming from a man who, as Governor of Hong Kong, fought for HK to have a democracy all the time he was there. I lived in Hong Kong at the time and was right behind him? However, on his return he was made a European Commissioner! Usually given as a reward or to compensate failure, is Mandleson was given a Commission job for failing as a Minister. I know these people are protecting their fat EU pensions but I think it's a bit rich!

F/f 19.11 . Please note I was replying to scooping, who had mentioned , Major, Cameron, Blair , Edwina Currie and that awful man Clarkson .This thread had nothing to do with those people either. So why are you so upset that I dared to mention Thatcher. eh.
Sorry gulliver, I assumed you'd have twigged that scooping's post was about pro-remain ex-politicians like Patten (Cameron, Blair, Major....)
Well, all I’ve received is a few ‘I’m out of here soon so *** to the rest of you’ answers. Very grown up. You leave voters need to gain some perspective.
^I don't know who said that but I didn't.
No, you didn’t. Well, not in so many words.
I didn't say it at all.
Oh, Hang on.....
‘in or out makes no difference to me on a personal level’

Ah, hem.
That doesn't in any way equate to ‘I’m out of here soon so *** to the rest of you’ If it makes no difference to me on a personal level, it's neither here nor there to me. Now pick your bottom lip up before you trip over it again.
N, being in or out could make a great deal of difference to the younger voter. Your comment about your indifference tipifies the voting attitude of your generation. Which makes it selfish in the extreme.
oops ....you forgot elitist.
Well, N, if I did it’s me age wot dun it ;-)

I’ve still got that cottage by the sea for us two to sneak off to.

Imagine the fun we’d have.
hey, my mother's tena is up for grabs, Brexit or no Brexit, a 11pm special as a prize for whoever dominates this bust-up...... In fact, I may redesign a tena and call it a Patten - can hold the crap of either side....that concept may just make my book on Alzeheimer's caring! Thanks.
//...being in or out could make a great deal of difference to the younger voter//

Yes. Absolutely so.

//... your indifference tipifies[sic] the voting attitude of your generation. Which makes it selfish in the extreme//

No, and absolutely not so. It does, perhaps, typify the small-mindedness of some posters who assume that everybody is motivated by short-term financial gain. Some of us (including a childless - though not step-childless - VE) may have voted to leave for the traditional conservative principle of preserving the good things we've inherited, mitigateing the bad parts of that inheritance and passing on to our children something better.
I think that DTC is a better man than his 23:23 post might suggest.
