Any of the above...and don't worry about your legs.

emmie I'd be thinking about the getting home bit....round here taxis on Christmas night are like hen's teeth. If you lived here you'd need to pre book and that ties you to staying till the taxi comes. I am not saying do go or don't go but its going to take a little thought...Whatever you decide, have a lovely day.

being in the capital has its advantages, i don't live all that far probably twenty minutes walk from their place but if its cold/snowy which it could be then taxi if would have to be.
do go Emmie..I am sure your friends are aware of your limitations and will understand if you leave earlyish..if they are collecting you then in all probability the lift home will be offered too..if worried phone them and say you are concerned about getting home..let them pick up the thread...

have ordered some wine for the day and some tinned shortbread biscuits, hopefully that will be a thank you for having me gesture.
That's it emmie...the majority say "go". It's lovely that you have friends who are thinking of you.

Thank you for BA...I'm now at 100! Lol
emmie if you do not already have one buy yourself a folding 4 wheeled walker with seat. Finest thing I ever bought for dodgy legs.
Check at Amazon. Ron XX
My favourite bubbles in the whole universe - Chapel Down English Sparkling Brut - is currently on offer in Sainsbury's for £18. I prefer these bubbles to any champagne I've ever drank!

thanks ron, i know what you mean, but have a cane if need be, its standing too long thats the problem mostly
I hope sqad means "peace"...;-)
no I think he means pieces

go - I am sure your host will have chairs
I think that is a nice gift, Emmie. Go and I hope you have a lovely time.
Yes, yes, yes you should go Emmie.......nobody should spend Xmas day on their own. I tried once, a few years ago, and its ruddy miserable !

Get a nice bottle of Cava, or maybe Prosecco......much cheaper than Champagne. Prosecco should only a fiver, and it fun, just any other bubbly.

If you can stretch to it, buy a small bottle of brandy as well.....that way you can make bubbly cocktails for everybody :::

Put a sugar cube in the bottom of a tall glass....pour on a bit of brandy and then top up with Prosecco or Cava !

already chose win and biscuits, as i don't much like prosecco.
Sounds lovely, emmie. Go, as long as you want to and have a nice time xx
Emmie....it was your mention of bubbly that made me think of that !

But whatever you decide to get, enjoy yourself on Xmas Day....please !
Don't we have some nice mates on here. I love it.
I agree Ron !
Question Author
yes there are.
Yes, you should definitely go and wine (or a good bottle of port) and chocolates are always acceptable.
I agree with Sqad,.....I've tried my best to do nothing I don't want to and am getting happier in process.
