Have removed labels from a few jam jars ready for reuse. However, can't get the sticky glue off. Any suggestions?

boil kettle, hot water in them, close jars and scrub with rough bit of scouring pad.
Pretty much as alba say's.

That worked a treat and so easy. Many thanks Alba.
Eucalyptus oil usually does the trick too.
Final glue residue usually comes off with WD40, if that fails I use nail polish remover.
Just clicked on this to check if it was one of TTT's threads and should have been in the motoring and road rules section.
could someone pick me up? I'm in shock that one of me suggestions worked.

Glad it did Maggie, (have no idea why I did that years ago, but it worked a treat)

Hi Seekz xx Tony xx
Hi alba xx I'd never heard your tip but sounds good :))
Seekz, the only cost is the flipping leccy boiling the kettle and buying a scourer
(as a Scot, well, wot can I say lol)

Eddie, yep, am not surprised :-))))

maggie, ssshh. it's economy :-)
This stuff from Tesco is great for removing all sorts of sticky stuff.Bit pricey, but you don't need much so it lasts a long time.

Tony, I'm making Christmas snow scenes for my grandchildren.
Barsel, that page seems to recommend gin. I'd consider that a bit of a waste.
