My Tongue Feels Strange

My tongue feels like I've burnt it but it's been like this for over a week now, and now my gums and lips feel strange as well. Any idea what this could be?

Ygritte - you know an awful lot about me given that you only joined on 13 September.

Also, I have never known MTX to be prescribed to a patient for cancer. On the contrary, any patient on MTX who is diagnosed with cancer, is told to stop MTX immediately since there is a higher risk of having a malignancy when on MTX. If a patient has MTX for autoimmune disease, a course of chemotherapy would put their inflammatory arthropathy into damn good remission for some time.

No big deal.
Certainly not due to thrush.......you would see a rash and you say that your tongue is normal.
Almost certainly the side effects of Methotrexate.
You will have to get used to it.

ygritte....I agree, but his symptoms are the side effects of the drug, with very little if no evidence of infection which had been suggested by many posters.
Barsel will decide if the side effects require medication based on how they affect his life.

OMG when did I have a sex change? I am all woman! I have been on 7.5mg of Methotrexate for several years because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I have Rituximab infusions every 6 months. I believe there is a requisite to be on MX when receiving the infusions, but this is the first time I've had a sore mouth.
