Quite easy once you get the hang of it! No pitfalls if you keep to the rules. Pay the fees by Paypal or direct debit. There are tutorials on the site.
This is something I'm considering also. I've got to pay for what I buy...and I've got loads I could sell!
Nothing difficult about it really, just make sure you post in the right category.

If you dont already have a Paypal account, it will be worth setting one up, trading on Ebay is much easier with one.
Agree with ratter.
Get paypal account definitely. ..I sell quite a bit and I personally send stuff that has to be signed for by the buyer so I know at least it was delivered.
pitfalls are the odd difficult buyer and making sure that you cover your p and p and fee costs when setting the selling price of low priced items

Thank you, folks.
I already have a PayPal account, and use eBay a lot for buying.
I’m moving house and have some things I would like to get red of, but hopefully make a few quid too.
I’ve tried Gumtree, but no luck.
Hi woofgang I 1st check how much other people are selling the same item as me I like to do free post so I add a bit more to the selling price ..people I found don't want to pay postage if they can get it free sent out to them
Do Ebay charge you a fee for selling?
Yes 10% when your item sells
In sell a lot on eBay
1066 feedback and only 1 negative( that was from a buyer who bought a 'spares or repair ' item, complained that it did not work kept the item with 100% refund and still left negative feedback)
The most important in my view is to put up 3 or 4 good quality photos , make sure they are in focus ,clear and detailed and show all angles of the item close up.
Buy a few small cheap items first even if you don't really want them, the idea is to get at least 10 as a feedback score.A lot of people will not buy from newbies with low or zero feedback.
My ebay ID is 123-monkeyking if you are interested in some good quality vintage photography equipment or to see how I do my photos.

Eddie, if your interest is in the above, I have 3 framed prints on Gumtree, which are for the three British Historic Land, Sea & Air world speed records, by the Mallard Locomotive, Blue Riband Liner, and a Submerplane.
They are all sized 45cm x 55cm, and based on World speed.

They are all signed by well known artist, which you will find, if you do a Google search.

Just a thought.
^ thanks but it's the equipment to take the photo's that I am interested in. Particularly vintage lenses.
